The Authority is a Perth business consulting firm, founded by Josh Roa, for established, owner-led businesses across Australia.
It started as a marketing agency. For years our job was getting businesses seen and getting the phone ringing, for surf shops, gyms, supplement brands, landscapers, cabinet makers and gate installers. A lot of it worked. Ocean & Earth WA saw a 351% increase in sales from search traffic. GFTeam went from 5 to 10 enquiries a month to 10 a week.
But we kept seeing the same thing once the phone started ringing. Enquiries landed on owners who were already flat out. Quotes went out late. Good people left. At AGM Automation, we had to slow down their best campaign because the bookings outran the technicians. More leads weren't the answer. The business behind the marketing was.
Our founder, Josh Roa, saw the same pattern in our own business: strategy, sales and delivery all ran through one person. So we rebuilt The Authority around the order that actually works. Our method is adapted from a framework built over a career of restructuring small and medium businesses, and refined through our client work: find what's true, build the foundations, the standard, the financials and the rhythm, then grow.
