HOW WE TACKLED THE BRIEF GIVEN TO US
Brief
As a long-running wholesale and retail business in Rockingham, Western Australia, Ocean & Earth WA knew it wasn’t reaching as many people as possible, solely because of its online presence.
Based on the business plan and goals for the company, The Authority was engaged to develop a marketing strategy that would increase sales (both online and walk-in) and help position Ocean & Earth WA as a leader in Western Australia. This included:
- Digital Marketing Strategy
- Website Design & Development
- Search Engine Optimisation
Deliverables
Since this was the first time Ocean & Earth WA had ever created a formal communications plan, The Authority introduced a scaled approach to implementing this new online marketing and sales process.
This approach included:
- Monthly strategy meetings, held in person
- Simple reporting so they could see the progress made
- Regular phone and email communication
Results
By developing a new Shopify website with a professional-looking design and clear messaging, The Authority was able to turn Ocean & Earth WA’s sales around. A big part of this was also due to implementing the Search Engine Optimisation campaign, which saw a 351% increase in online sales via search traffic in the first 8 months, alone.
This has provided a starting point for the business to now review how it can increase sales via Email Marketing, with the aim being to equal walk-in sales. As these are just the first three components of the overall digital marketing strategy, it is an indication that the brand is on track to future-proofing itself against potential market changes.
